Islands of Lorne

The numerous islands around the Craobh Haven and Sound of Luing area are a haven for sea kayakers with an abundance of wildlife.

It is also one of the best areas in Britain to introduce clients to tidal planning, as we plan our journeys to take advantage of the tidal streams running round the islands.

Weather permitting, we should have the opportunity to explore the islands of Shuna, Luing and Seil which are all close at hand, as well as experience great tidal paddling.

Aberdeenshire Coast

The plan for this weekend is to run 2 day trips on the Aberdeenshire coast. Weather permitting we will explore the coast to the North and South of Aberdeen City.

We intend to run day 1 out of Stonehaven. The coast to the south of Stonehaven offers us great coastal scenery. On day 2 we will head to the north of Aberdeen and run our day out of Cruden Bay. This gives us the opportunity to explore the Bullers of Buchan, and see Slaines castle from the sea.

Skills Coaching Weekend

This weekend will be based in the Spey Valley, and the plan is to spend day 1 on Loch Morlich introducing kayaking skills.

We will then run the following day on the Moray coast. This is a great area for sea kayaking, and there is always the possibility to see the resident dolphin population, which regularly spends time off chanonry point.

Knoydart Area

Although part of the mainland, the Knoydart peninsula is renowned for its remoteness. There is no road access and the best way to get there is by boat.

We plan to meet up at Mallaig on the Saturday morning, and after loading our kayaks with our camping equipment we will make our way round to Loch Nevis. We will find a remote campsite for our first night at the head of Loch nevis. Our next campsite will be at the beach at Inverie which allows us easy access to the Old Forge, reputably the remotest pub in the UK.
